An old post from Homeland Security adviser Stephen Miller, one of President Donald Trump’s closest aides, has resurfaced on X in the hours following the administration’s decision to attack Iran.
The post, dated Nov. 1, 2024, suggested that then-Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ ties to former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), who endorsed her campaign, would lead to World War III.
“Trump said warmongering neocons love sending your kids to die for wars they would never fight themselves. Liz Cheney is Kamala’s top advisor. Liz wants to invade the whole Middle East. Kamala = WWIII. Trump = Peace,” Miller wrote at the time.
That statement now rings hollow in light of Trump’s move to attack Tehran, even though U.S. intelligence undercuts his rationale for doing so. Trump has also conceded that the operation could cost American lives.
“That often happens in war,” Trump said.
