MAGA Lawmakers Pull 'Pathetic' Cake Stunt To Applaud Trump's Greenland Threats

This takes the cake.

Some MAGA House Republicans gathered at the Kennedy Center this week to slice up a cake of Greenland covered by an American flag to celebrate President Donald Trump’s threats to annex the arctic island ― even by force.

The president backed down from his menacing on Wednesday in Davos, Switzerland, but the distasteful stunt lingered on social media.

In one clip Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), alongside Rep. Andy Ogles (Tenn.), plunges the knife into the cake for the ceremonial first slice. “We cut it!” she said.

The half-baked antics drew the ire of Antoine Bondaz, who works on an advisory service for the European Commission, according to Linked-In.

“This is how some in the US view Greenland and its people—as a cake to be cut up and shared with smiles and laughter,” he wrote on X. “Sorry, but this is deeply disrespectful and frankly pathetic.”

George Simion, a hard-right nationalist who modeled his campaign after Trump in losing the Romanian election for president in May, was also on hand to cut the cake.

“We will be there for all the free people in the world,” Simion said. As the clip cuts out, he could also be heard commenting about having to “get rid of” French President Emmanuel Macron, who has been critical of Trump’s aggression.

Trump had threatened to punish European nations that didn’t get in line with his Greenland quest by implementing 10% tariffs on them. But he he backed off Wednesday amid an apparent solution. The president said he had arrived at the “framework of a future deal” for the United States’ role in Greenland.

Trump’s announcement prompted Luna to propose another Greenland cake event.

“In light of recent developments I will be ordering a Greenland cake and inviting members of the press to come cut it with me to have a slice in celebration,” she wrote.
