Meghan McCain is urging the Trump administration to give Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) the hook when it comes to its ongoing efforts to sell the American public on the Iran war.
On Sunday, McCain reacted to Graham’s eyebrow-raising interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, in which he proclaimed that the U.S. and Israel were going to jointly “blow the hell out of these people,” referring to Iran, over the next two weeks to bring about “peace like no other time.”

“I’ve known Lindsey Graham since I was a child,” she wrote on X. “I am imploring anyone who will listen in the Trump administration to stop sending this man out as a surrogate.”
She went on to note: “He is scaring people and doing damage to whatever message you’re trying to sell to the American public about the Iran war.”

Graham was on the defense throughout much of his Fox News appearance, describing President Donald Trump as a “man of peace and business” committed to saving the world from “real chaos.”
As for the military operations in Iran ― which are reportedly costing the U.S. $1 billion a day ― he boasted: “Best money ever spent.”

“What’s it worth to America to take down a religious Nazi regime who’s trying to build a nuclear weapon to deliver to America? That’s a really good investment,” he said, later adding: “Iran is going down, and Cuba is next.”
McCain, the daughter of the late GOP Sen. John McCain who previously served as a co-host on “The View,” was close to Graham throughout much of her young adulthood, even referring to him as an “uncle.”
The 41-year-old has made visible efforts to distance herself from Graham, however, as the senator has ingratiated himself with Trump and the president’s MAGA movement.
In 2021, Graham drew McCain’s ire after he publicly rebuked her claim that Trump’s daughter and son-in-law, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, had attended her father’s 2018 funeral against her family’s wishes.
“Lindsey Graham may consider himself a member of my family, but he is not and hasn’t been for a very long time. He certainly doesn’t speak for me or my life experiences. Full stop,” she fired back online. “The media should stop treating him like he is an expert on anything McCain related.”
